Music video for “Jubel” by Klingande inspires travel to Denmark

I’ve been in need of some new music lately, so much so that I’ve taken to browsing through YouTube and various blogs in my free time. During my search, I discovered the French house music duo Klingande. The duo’s Facebook page states they are “two students who love making and mixing music.” Their entrancing songs allow you to recognize their passion for music, and I can’t wait to hear more from them in the future.

I first heard Klingande’s song “Jubel” on the blog Soundtrack of the YouthThe blog is maintained by a 23-year-old Norwegian woman who posts updates on new music from the indie, house, pop and electronica genres. I love how she incorporates photographs into each of her posts, and you should check out her blog if you have the chance. Click on the link above to see it for yourself!

After hearing the song on her blog, I looked it up on YouTube and watched Klingande’s visually-appealing music video. I love the road trip feel of the video. We see individuals driving cross country in a van and walking along the beach. The image of a feather is seen throughout the video; we see it as a girl’s earring, in a front pocket, and hanging on the rearview mirror in the van.

I went on a mad search for where this video was filmed because I loved the shots of the beach so much. This task proved more difficult than I thought it was going to be. Eventually, I found out that it was filmed this past August in Denmark, but I couldn’t determine specific locations in the country.

By comparing shots from the video, I am making my best guess by saying part of the video was filmed at Møns Klint, white chalk cliffs along the coastline of Denmark. According to lonelyplanet.com, you can reach Møns Klint by entering through the woods of Klinteskoven behind the cliffs.

Denmark was a country I had no previous inclination of ever visiting, but now it’s on my bucket list. Klingande now owns a spot on my iTunes’ “Recently Added” playlist, and I hope to learn of new places to go with their future music videos.

  1. Hi, thank you so much for your kind words regarding my blog! I really appreciate it:) That is a really interesting fact regarding the Jubel video by the way, I also agree that the music video is gorgeous and it looks like a place worth visiting! Luckily I live in Denmark, it would be so cool if I found that beach.. The picture you posted look identical to the one from the video, so it must be there!

    1. You’re welcome! Your blog is one of my favorites that I follow, so I’m glad to mention you in a post! That’s awesome that you live in Denmark! If you ever find the beach from the photos, let me know because I would love to do another blog post featuring someone who’s actually been there!

Hi, I have been at the beach. It is an amazing place, especially also because of the way you get down there, very long wooden stairs, where you are surounded by trees and the white chalk cliff 🙂 It is funny no danes, in these posts knew of the place? I come from Denmark myself, and I would say that almost everyone knows this place, it is one of our “special” places, many have seen. 🙂 If you want to know more, you are welcome to contact me, or you could search for the danish tourist site. Usually Møns Klint is on the websites 😉

Sadly it is not man 😉 That is Møns Klint, as a dane i know. It does look similar though. I also now it because the whole landscape before your get to the cliff is very distinguishable from other places 😉

Hey there, I can assure you that this video was filmed (entirely, I’m quite sure) on the island of “Møn” – More specifically the eastern part of the island that has more of a hilly landscape than on the western part. I’m sure you’d be welcome there, it’s a popular tourist location for obvious reasons.

    Hope that helped,
    Frederik.

I recognized the beach from the video, and wondered if it really could be Møns Klint. Looking it up I came by this blog.
Møns Klint is a quite famous beach in DK, because of the white calcium cliffs. I’m glad you also got inspired to go there, it’s definitely one of my favourite parts of this small country. I would recommend to go in summer and then early in the morning/night, when there are no people, and the sun is rising!

    1. I’m glad you stumbled upon my blog! I’d love to go one day and am looking to study abroad in Europe next spring. I’ll have make sure I head to the cliffs! Thanks for the tip about when to go 🙂
